Overview

Set in 15 acres of woodland, surrounded by views of the Leven valley and the Yorkshire Moors, this magnificent Edwardian stately home has been recognised as one the top 200 hotels in the country.

During your stay you can walk or jog along one of the walking trails, or simply wander through the well manicured lawns. After, come back to the hall, park the wellies firmly by the front door and come in for a hot drink by the roaring fire in the drawing room, or a chilled glass of white wine under an umbrella on the terrace, depending on the season.

An LCD TV, free internet access and luxury toiletries are included in each room. Some rooms also have a balcony.

One of Yorkshire's grandest hotels, awarded 4 red stars for exceptional quality and service, Crathorne Hall is ideally located close to Darlington, Middlesborough, Stockton on Tees and only 8 miles from Durham Valley Tees Airport.

Hotel information

Built in 1906, overlooking the Leven Valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, Crathorne Hall is at once, grand, stately, warm and welcoming.

Owned by the Dugdale family until 1977, Crathorne Hall has played host to politicians, courted royalty and delighted socialites over the decades. Yet despite moving in stately circles, the house has stayed true to its roots as a place of entertainment and relaxation. Now it is yours to explore.

As well as refined and comfortable accommodation, Carthorne boasts 8 meeting rooms, all recently refurbished (largest 18.5m x 6m).

Room information

Crathorne Hall has recently completed a bedroom refurbishment program, with all 37 rooms now complete. These rooms have been decorated with a contemporary feel to them and are all equipped with 28” LCD televisions and DVD players.

Food & beverage

Awarded 2 AA rosettes for its fine cuisine, the chefs at Crathorne Hall use fresh ingredients from the region to create a seasonal, inspiring menu.

In the afternoon, sit back and enjoy the signature afternoon tea, including a selection of homemade cakes and fruit scones, local Yorkshire curd tart, sandwiches and a variety of speciality teas.

A traditional Sunday lunch is also served.
